ITQ - Information
Technology Qualification
The Information Technology qualification
is a nationally-recognised qualification that demonstrates proficiency in
software and IT - custom-made to an individual,
specific job or role in the workplace.
An independent Assessor first assesses
your workplace/job, then trains you in the skills you need, before assessing
your ability to carry out 'real life'
tasks using these newly acquired skills.
As the ITQ is unique to the individual, there are a number of steps to be
gone through to ensure the training programme is ideally matched to your needs.
ITQs are made up of a number of modules selected from a core
list and at three different 'mix and match' levels.
You will be enrolled upon your first course
and can begin your training.
You will be given a minimum of two weeks
to complete each module and must provide evidence of your ability from the
Tasks given to you by your Tutor.
These Tasks may be carried out in the workplace,
in a mock environment in the training centre or by a simple Question and
Answer session.
All this evidence is checked by your Tutor
and will be placed in your individual portfolio as you build towards achieving
the full ITQ qualification.
Once you have successfully completed all your required modules, you will
receive a nationally recognised certificate from City & Guilds
for the ITQ.
Completion time
As every Learner has different skills levels and different needs, any completion
time is difficult to predict. However, an average Learner spending six hours
a week training should be able to achieve their ITQ in eight to twelve weeks.
